Christ the King Convent ,popularly known as CKC was started in the year 1944 by the Carmelites Sisters of St. Teresa.Located in the heart of the Royal City of Mysuru ,this pioneering and prestigious educational institution has earned name and fame among the residents of Mysuru.The student fraternity and the society at large has been greatly benefited by the great service rendered by CKC.

Christ the King Convent was started in the year 1944. 27th of January 1944 is a memorable day as it marked the beginning of a new chapter in the history of the Carmelite Sisters of St. Teresa (CSST) in Karnataka.It was on this day that Mother Mary , the then Superior General of the Institute planted the seed of this institution.Sr.Benigna and Sr.Elias were the foundation stone who took charge of Mrs.Theobald's Nursery and Primary Schools.They found their strong support in Rt.Rev. Dr.Rene Feuga the Bishop of Mysore and Fr.Qneguinerthe procurator of the Diocese.
A two storyed building on the Viceroy Road was taken on rent with the encouragement and under the guidance of Frs.Audiau and Simon. The venture was a great success.This was called "Christ the King Convent School".
During the same year High School was also started under the able administration of Sr.Innocentia as Head Mistress and Sr.Bernardine as her assistant.The first batch of S.S.L.C students appeared for the exam in 1946 with excellent results.
In 1949 Sr.Rita took the charge of the institution and purchased a plot of land from the Trust Board near Maternity Hospital.In 1950 Foundation stone of the new school building was laid by Sri.K.C.Reddy, the Chief Minister of Mysore State .Sr.Rita began the construction of the ground floor of the school building with the help of Superior.In 1953,High School building was opened by His Highness Sri. Jayachamarajendra Wodeyar,the Maharaja of Mysore.
In 1964 the school was upgraded into a Higher Secondary School with Sr.Firmina as the Principal.
Though the instituion was growing steadily,cause of poor was not forgotten.All the poor students who sought admission were given admissionto the school and the hostel.
In short, Christ the King Convent and the School has made mark in the society by their selfless service in school,in the field of apostolate and Pastoral work.Our hearts burst into song of gratitude to God for the marvel He had done in and through our Christ the King Convent.
